On Friday evening of the 11^th of April, 2008, the day before the Akathist Saturday which includes the reading and singing of the entire cannon and akathist for our Most Holy Virgin Mother of God, an all night vigil was held at the Sv.Prohor Pcinski Monastery.

Abbot Gavril guided us into an evening of prayer and peace. With only the light from candles reflecting throughout the church, we took turns in reading hymns to our Most Honorable Virgin, Mother Mary. The beauty and spirituality of this place filled and warmed our hearts immediately. Praises echoed into the early morning with each of us taking turns in saying the Jesus Prayer, Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on us throughout the little church which brought upon a solemn feeling of respect and repentance towards our Lord.

It was to be a long evening but it passed so quickly. The silence of the night transported our minds away from this earth, and the sacrifice of those hours for our Lord brought our hearts closer to His Kingdom for a moment in time.

As the end drew near, we partook in the mysteries of His Holy Communion and sang the final songs of the Liturgy. Once finished, Abbot Gavril invited us all for coffee, tea and breakfast, consisting of the traditional Macedonian dip of Ajvar accompanied with bread. We sat and discussed the beatitudes of the evening, all with peaceful and happy expressions on our faces. Abbot Gavril also shared his knowledge and insight into spirituality with us and sent us home with amazing feelings of peace, love, and spiritual unity. It was an evening; I believe that all of us will not forget.

Ubavinata I duhovnosta na ova mesto vedna{ gi ispolni i zatopli na{ite srca. Slavoslovijata odeknuvaa vo malata crkvatado rano nautro so sekoj od nas ka`uvaj}I ja Isusovata molitva: “Gospodi, Iisuse Hriste, pomiluj n#.” koe dovede do pokajni~ko ~uvstvo na po~it kon na{iot Gospod.

Treba{e da bide dolga ve~er, no mnogu brzo pomina. No}nata ti{ina gi voznese na{ite misli daleku od zemjata I `rtvata vo tie momenti za na{iot Gospod gi dovede na{ite srca za moment od vremeto poblisku do Negovoto Carstvo.

Kako {to se pribli`uva{e krajot, nie zedovme u~estvo vo tajnata na Negovata Sveta Pri~est peej}i gi zavr{nite pesnopenija na Liturgijata. Koga zavr{i bdenieto, igumenot Gavril site ne pokani na kafe, ~aj i tradicionalen doru~ek - Makedonski ajvar so leb. Sedej}i razgovaravme za bla`enstvata na ve~erta, site so smireni i radosni izrazi na licata. Igumenot Gavril, isto taka, go spodeli negovoto znaewe i dlabo~ina vo duhovnosta so nas i site n# isprati doma so neverojatni ~uvstva na mir, qubov i duhovno edinstvo. Toa be{e vistinska ve~er; veruvam deka nikoj od nas nema da ja zaboravi.
