Each day is blessed by our Lord, especially the fasting days which help to increase our spiritual awakeness and our attention over the heart and its cleaning of the passions.

Before us is the feast dedicated to Saint Peter and Paul or otherwise known as the Apostolic feast which has its own rule for fasting. Not forgetting that according to the canons (rules) of the Church, if we correctly practice all the fasts and we regularly live a correct spiritual life according to the spiritual leading of a spiritual father, with his blessing we can receive Holy Communion every week.

Saints Peter and Paul fast and the Nativity fast

This fast is established in honor of the holy Lord’s apostles and in honor of the nativity of Lord Jesus Christ. They should be feasted in this way: on Monday, Wednesday and Friday oil and wine are not allowed; on Thursday and Tuesday it’s allowed oil and wine, and on Saturday and Sunday – oil and fish are allowed.

If there is a feast on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday it’s allowed with oil and fish. If a feast of a not so great saint is on Wednesday and Friday it’s allowed oil and wine. But if it’s a big feast on Wednesday and Friday, beside the oil, fish is allowed too. If there is a day of a church Saints day on Wednesday and Friday, oil and fish is allowed.

Ovie posti se vostanoveni vo ~est na svetite Gospodovi apostoli i vo ~est na ra|aweto na Gospoda Isusa Hrista. Tie se postat vaka: vo ponedelnik, sred i petok ne se jade maslo i vino; vo ~etvrtok i vtornik se dozvoluva maslo i vino, a vo sabota i nedela maslo i riba.

Ako padne praznik vo ponedelnik, vtornik i ~etvrtok, se dozvoluva maslo i riba. Ako padne praznik na pomal svetitel vo sreda i petok se dozvoluva maslo i vino. Ako e golem praznik vo sred i petok se dopu{ta, pokraj maslo, i riba. Ako padne den na crkovna slava vo sreda i petok, se dozvoluva maslo i riba.
